This website is a short introduction to my hobby of making music. Not much, nothing fancy, just some pages for the people who are interested.
I have been taught to play piano when I was young, however my heart always longed to be able to play guitar. Being left handed (and very strong at that) I always picked up my dad’s guitar the ‘wrong’ way. Not allowed to turn around the strings I gave up. When I was 26 I had the resources and opportunity to buy a second hand nylon string guitar. After restrining it the ‘right’ way I learned the basic chords, but nothing more. My own business required computer skills and so I focussed on that.
It was only after I started normal college that I decided to throw down the gauntlet and get serious about playing guitar. Thanks to the internet I got loads of material and encouragement. I eventually took 2 years of lessons, but basically I can do what I want to do and know how to advance to the next level.
My taste in music is very wide, but I enjoy blues, folk and classical guitar the most. The computer is my main teaching aid right now, as I use it as my ‘one-man-band’, recording myself. Being able to listen to, critizise and improve yourself is perfect for a Hikikomori like myself. The results of my labour I want to share with you. Be mild in your criticisms: remember that I am married, with a kid (soon two), a home with garden and about two square meters of livingroom to call my own.
Enjoy and if you want, drop me a line or two. hansfong-at-yahoo-dot-com.
